61

Unknown but clearly not local to Caythorpe given the rock structures

62

Unknown - perhaps the last English champion of Wimbledon

63

Oak Apple day outside the old Eight Bells pub (now a private residence). The landlord of the pub at the time is believed to have been a Mr Oxb(e)y. The names of two of the children are known (they are both distant relations of Geoff Owen who owns these plates):
front row far right is Isaac Metheringham ("Pinky") and front row fourth from the right is Esther Beresford

64

This chap with his cart outside the old Eight Bells pub is apparently the village carrier who delivered goods bought at market

65

The old Sun Inn in Caythorpe High Street has long since closed for business. Apparently there used to be a fish and chip shop out back

66

This picture has a title: Caythorpe Club Feast and is dated 1908

67

All that remains of this splendid building in Old Lincoln Road is the left hand gatepost. The design on the gatepost is a clue to its name, Holy Cross

68

A meeting (believed to be in 1905) of the Belvoir Hunt at Frieston. The road bending off to the right is now the A607

69

Another view of the old Eight Bells pub with Bonner's Saddlery just visible on the left

70

Caythorpe High Street. The school (still here today) is at the far end of the street on the right

71

The fair comes to Caythorpe. This one is believed to be Smith and Warren's of Lincoln

72

The gardens of Holy Cross (see photo no 67)
