| We have
been most fortunate in being permitted to produce the
following gallery of photographs originating from the
late 1800s/early 1900s of people and places from in and
around the village of Caythorpe in Lincolnshire, UK. They
have been produced from a collection of 85 original glass
plates owned by Mr Geoffrey Owen of Caythorpe. Although
some of the people and scenes are known, many are not and
we would be delighted to hear from anyone who could
enhance our knowledge. In particular, see the damage
inflicted by a lightning strike to the very top of the
church spire in photo no 20. Although the images
reproduced in our website galleries are of low
resolution, each of the corresponding glass plates has
been professionally scanned and printed to produce a
superb series of photographs which are available to be
purchased . The comments under each picture reflect what was known about them at the time we put them on-line (2003). We have now added a comments page to enable others to provide further information. If you want to comment on any of these pictures please email us Purchasing Copies of these Photographs Copies of all of these photographs can be purchased from us. Orders will take anything up to 10 days to fulfill. All photographs are numbered so please take note of the number of the photograph you wish to purchase. The quality of the images obtained from the original glass plates is variable but in most cases prints can be produced in 3 different sizes (8"x 6", 10"x 8" and 16"x 12") and output quality is not impaired. These sizes are only approximate because some of the glass plates will produce slightly different sized outputs. Prices per print
Packaging and Posting will be an extra charge at cost
